Saints at St Thomas More
Our house saints represent the varied cultures and experiences of our pupils, helping them feel seen, valued, and connected through shared faith and identity. Children and parents took an active role in selecting a saint they felt a personal connection with.
St. Josephine Bakhita
St. Josephine Bakhita's journey from slavery to sainthood stands as a powerful testament to resilience, compassion, and unwavering faith. After being hurt and mistreated, she found peace through her faith and spent her life helping others. Her inspiring life encourages our children to remain strong during difficult times, treat others with kindness, and understand the strength found in forgiveness and love.
St. Francis of Assisi
St. Francis is remembered for his deep love of God and all of creation. As the patron saint of animals and the environment, he cared for every living being with compassion and kindness. His gentle nature and strong faith inspire our children to show respect for all life, care for the planet, and live with kindness in their hearts.
St. Carlo Acutis
Blessed Carlo Acutis, was a young boy with a passion for technology, used the internet to share the Gospel with others. His deep love for the Eucharist and his unwavering faith make him a symbol of strength, reminding us that holiness can be found in even the simplest moments. Carlo’s example inspires our children to use their talents for good, live their faith joyfully, and find strength in small acts of kindness.
St. Maximilian Kolbe
St. Maximilian Kolbe has showed great love and courage by giving his life to save someone else. Even in a time of great fear and suffering, he chose kindness, forgiveness, and faith. His story inspires children to forgive others, be brave in doing what is right, and show love even when it’s hard.
St. Teresa of Avilia
St. Teresa of Ávila is a saint because of her deep love for God and her life of prayer and service. She worked hard to bring people closer to God and showed great humility, always putting others before herself. Her example inspires children to be humble, to pray with an open heart, and to remember that kindness and faith are more important than being perfect.
